What's this I hear about the Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme?

The Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme is a policy brought in by the government for all new tenancies starting from 6th April 2007. It is a new system intended to help resolve disputes and guarantee that tenants' deposits are protected against malicious landlords.

Are there any 'house rules'?

Whilst we respect our tenants right to quiet enjoyment of their home we feel that it is important to lay down some important rules for our tenants' that ensure any damage to property can be avoided.

  • No smoking. Smoking is not allowed inside our houses for a number of reasons: the accommodation is shared with other tenants, the tar within the cigarette smoke stains paintwork & furniture and the remaining odour makes the rooms unlettable to new tenants.
  • Blue Tak. This seemingly inoffensive adhesive contains oils, when it is removed from the walls it either takes the paint with it, or leaves greasy marks that cannot be cleaned. However we do allow our tenants to use picture hooks to hang mounted posters or pictures.
